Last Witness at Kovacevic’s Trial Appears Next Week

The Trial Chamber sitting at the trial of Zemir Kovacevic, who is charged with the murders of civilians in Sijekovac village, Bosanski Brod municipality, is due next week to examine protected witness M, who previously testified for the Prosecution.

Protected witness M will be examined as a Bosnian State Court’s witness on Wednesday, March 12. Dates for presentation of closing statements by the State Prosecution and Kovacevic’s Defence will be set after that.

As part of the presentation of additional evidence at the trial of Predrag Milisavljevic, Milos Pantelic and Ljubomir Tasic, who are charged with crimes in Visegrad, the Prosecution of BiH will examine one witness and present a few pieces of material evidence on Tuesday, March 11. On that same day the State Prosecution is due to continue presenting material evidence at the trial of Aleksandar Cvetkovic, who is charged with genocide in Srebrenica.

The trials of Vitomir Rackovic for persecutions in Visegrad and Branko Vlaco for crimes committed in detention facilities in Vogosca are due to continue on Wednesday, when the Prosecution will present new pieces of evidence. The trial of Ostoja Stanisic and Marko Milosevic, who are charged with genocide in Srebrenica, is due to continue on that same day.

On Thursday, March 13 the trials are due to continue in the case against Indira Kameric, who is charged with crimes in Bosanski Brod, Nihad Bojadzic, who is charged with crimes in Jablanica, and Nedzad Hodzic and Dzevad Salcin, who are indicted for having beaten prisoners on Mount Igman.

On that same day the State Prosecution is due to continue presenting evidence at the trial for crimes committed in Hadzici municipality, which are charged upon Mustafa Djelilovic, Fadil Covic, Mirsad Sabic, Nezir Kazic, Becir Hujic, Halid Covic, Serif Mesanovic and Nermin Kalember.

A pre-trial status conference in the case against Marinko and Zoran Bjelica and Novica Tripkovic, who are charged with murders and other crimes in Kalinovik, is scheduled for Friday, March 14. Vehid Subotic, who is charged with crimes in Zenica, and Josip Tolic, who is on trial for crimes in Odzak and Bosanski Brod, are due to appear in court on that same day.

Safet Mujcinovic, Selman Busnov, Nusret Muhic, Zijad Hamzic, Ramiz Halilovic, Nedzad Hodzic, Hariz Habibovic, Kahro Vejzovic and Osman Gogic, who are charged with crimes in Kladanj, are due to appear in court on Friday. The trial of Ramiz Avdovic and Iulian Nicolae-Vintila, who are indicted for crimes in Sarajevo, continues that same day.

The retrials of Drazen Mikulic for crimes in Dretelj and Mehura Selimovic, Adil Ruznic and Emir Mustafic for crimes in Bosanska Krajina are due to continue in the week ahead.
